When David was in his early teens, he was given a camera which led him to make a series of skateboarding films. He began directing these films at the age of 14.
Before he became a director or producer, David studied method acting. He also trained and performed at Second City in Detroit.
Having completed an Advertising degree and graduating from Vancouver Film School, he quickly directed two feature-length films back to back. These films were distributed internationally and received high acclaim.
