Osbourne was hired by Geezer Butler to be the vocalist for his first band “Rare Breed” in late 1967. After performing in two shows, Rare Breed broke up. Later, Osbourne and Butler reunited to form the bank Poka Tulka Blues.

Alongside, they worked with a guitarist called Tony Lomi and Drummer known as Bill Ward, whose band Mythology had recently broken up.

However, they decided to change their name, then they selected the name Black Sabbath in August 1969, who based on the film of the same title.
