Scott opened a storefront called “the Hat Box” to begin her entrepreneurial journey. The company designed a specially crafted hat for ladies going through chemotherapy with comfort in mind. She created Kendra Scott LLC in 2002.
In 2010, her first boutique opened in Austin, Texas, and the following year, her creations were included in Oscar de la Renta’s spring 2006 Runway presentation.
Her over $1 billion revenue comes from fashion, fine jewellery, and home goods. Her wares are carried by high-end department stores, including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, and more, and she also operates over seventy-five brick-and-mortar shops and an online site.
She also started the Kendra Cares Program and donated $3.5 million the same year. Scott is affiliated with the Council of Fashion Designers of America. She tied the knot with Matt Davis in 2014; the couple now has three young children.
Scott has done a lot of good work in the community, mainly for the benefit of kids and women. In 2015, she started the Kendra Cares Program, through which her firm donated its Color Bar jewellery customisation experiences to children’s hospitals.
Scott also contributed to local charities and donated over 75,000 pieces of jewellery. In 2019, she gave a $1 million gift to The University of Texas to establish the Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute.
